The idiosyncratic Signe has pushed the boundaries of jazz, folk as well as contemporary music since 2015. Signe is very convincing with it’s presence, peculiar compositions and strong vocal interpretations. Their debut album “To Sappho” is based on the fragments of antiquity poet Sappho, telling timeless stories about passion and longing as well as equality in eemotional experiences.
Album received a nomination for the Teosto Prize and for the Jazz Emma in the spring 2020. Besides the Finnish jazz festivals, the group has represented Finland in Nordic Jazz Comets -showcase in London Jazz Festival 2018 and in Oslo Jazz Festival 2017.
